About Youngsong Martin

2010 inductee, the Wish Upon A Wedding Hall of Fame

2010 recipient, the Wish Upon A Wedding Shining Star Award

Youngsong Martin is the dynamic entrepreneur and fashion designer who propelled her high-style rental firm Wildflower Linen into prominence in the domestic and international special-event industries.

She began her career in couture, converting her formal training in South Korea and San Francisco into a dream come true as the creator of namesake lines of women’s apparel sold in boutiques and department stores throughout the United States. Youngsong later melded her affinity for entertaining and fine dining with her expert knowledge of textiles and fabrications to create her thriving event decor business, Wildflower Linen.

Since founding the company in 2001, Youngsong has grown it into a preferred source for celebrity event planners, leading hotel and catering executives, discerning organizers of corporate and social functions, and the hosts of gala weddings of all sizes. Meanwhile, her philanthropic efforts have supported charitable organizations and civic causes too numerous to list. In addition to Wish Upon A Wedding, she and Wildflower Linen most recently have aided the Dream Foundation, Wise Place – A Shelter for Women, and the Childhood Autism Foundation’s Candlelight Ball.

Youngsong has been a frequent donor and discount provider of her company’s acclaimed linens for fundraising banquets and charity events of all kinds. She has also served on the steering committees and advisory boards of several esteemed organizations serving our community.

Among the groups and activities Youngsong has assisted are Girls Incorporated, the annual UNICEF Gala, the annual Mission San Juan Capistrano Preservation Gala, and the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation’s annual Diamond & Pearl Ball.  Other organizations and events that she has worked with as a benefactor are Opera Pacific, the Boys & Girl Club Annual Gala, Olive Crest’s Homeless Kids program, and The Jane Goodall Foundation. As a sponsor, her linens and tabletop fashions have been featured at Dining By Design, benefiting the AIDS Foundation. Just last week at the Carousel of Hope event in Beverly Hills, a bevy of Hollywood celebrities bid on a silent-auction contribution from Wildflower Linen in support of the Children’s Diabetes Foundation.

As Youngsong has said: “The success of Wildflower Linen really obligates me, in many ways, to give back in support of worthy causes. I believe all responsible businesses have that duty. I am especially honored to be recognized by the fabulous Wish Upon a Wedding organization for the modest contributions I have been able to make.”
