White Hot Hope with Colin Cowie

This past weekend, Brides enjoyed a one-of-a-kind experience at New York’s BRIDES White Hot Style Shop event showcasing today’s hottest television personalities, celebrities and industry greats while making a difference for a few special causes!  Brides from the NY area were invited to the 3-day event, where they enjoyed free hair, makeup, and manicure trials, viewed the latest wedding gowns from the runway, and tasted canapes and beverages from a local caterer.

In addition, brides had the opportunity to attend presentations from the wedding industry’s elite trend setters.  Our dear friends at Colin Cowie Lifestyle requested linen and chair cover rentals to help him work his magic, creating ultimate wedding day looks on the spot.  Colin shared some great tips and inspirations on how to style an event using colors, textures, and chair cover treatments.

On a yummier note, brides were able to meet Buddy Valastro from TLC’s “Cake Boss,”and taste his famous sweets during a live Q&A with BRIDES Weddings Director Maria McBride on life, baking and being on TV.

Other special presenters included: brunch with Randy Fenoli of Kleinfeld and TLC’s Say Yes to the Dressfeaturing inspired menu & drink ideas by Canard, Inc, meeting Operation Smile Ambassadors Giuliana & Bill Rancic for a signing of their new book I Do, Now What?: Secrets, Stories, and Advice from a Madly-in-Love Couple, and the Etiquette Police senior editor Sally Killbridge.

The White Hot Hope initiative supports Operation Smile, providing free life-changing facial surgery to children around the world.  More than 200,000 children are born with a severe cleft condition each year — often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile.  In some places these children are shunned and rejected.  And in too many cases, their parents can’t afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a normal life.  Since 1982, Operation Smile — through the help of dedicated medical volunteers — has provided free surgeries to children around the world. With a presence in over 50 countries, we are able to heal children’s smiles and bringing hope for a better future.

White Hot Hope also supports Dress for Succces, which helps disadvantaged women achieve economic independence.  The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Founded in New York City in 1997, Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization offering services designed to help our clients find jobs and remain employed. Each Dress for Success client receives one suit when she has a job interview and can return for a second suit or separates when she finds work.
